Illinois Student Council Updates & End-of-Semester Survival Guide
December 9, 2024 8:02 PM
Illinois Student Council (ISC) Updates ISC has worked hard this semester to ensure that your voices are heard. Here’s some of what we’ve been focusing on: - Instructor + Course Evaluation System (ICES) Replacement
The university will replace the Instructor + Course Evaluation System (ICES) with a new course feedback system, where ISC has provided comments on behalf of students. ISC is advocating for creating a comprehensive academic platform for grade and course feedback data. Click here to see the University of Michigan Atlas system, for which we have recommended the system be modeled. - Student Conduct Transparency & Privacy Advocacy
We are advocating with the Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR) to provide clarity and update resources for students subject to a conduct process. This includes refining respondent FAQs, disciplinary procedures, and information provided to students to clarify language on privacy. - Student Success & Wellness Programs
- Sustainability Townhall: A gathering of environmental and sustainability student organizations to facilitate collaboration on working with ISC for future green initiatives.
- Cozy Thrifts: A winter clothing event where students had the opportunity to pick up free, gently used winter clothes.
- Mental Health Resource Information Night: A presentation by the Counseling Center based on feedback from students on the support they need most, including specialized services like cultural and socio-economic support.
