Computer issue affecting many Windows machines
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students, Early this morning we became aware that many university computers are experiencing an issue that may result in desktops or laptops being unresponsive. This is due to a major issue with CrowdStrike, desktop security software, and is only affecting Windows machines. The campus network is not affected by this issue. Information about how to troubleshoot the issue can be found on the Technology Services KnowledgeBase. However, it is not an easy workaround for most end users, and we suggest you contact the Technology Services Help Desk or your local college or unit IT support. Please be aware that IT support will be experiencing a significant increase in requests this morning because of the scale of this issue. Updates will be available on the Technology Services website. Sincerely, Mairéad Martin |
