Road Closures for Illinois Race Weekend

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

As we approach Illinois Race Weekend, please be aware of road closures affecting our community from Thursday evening through Saturday. All races, including the full marathon, will start and end on our campus, inevitably causing temporary disruptions to traffic.

To ensure you can plan accordingly, race organizers have compiled comprehensive information:

• Road Closures: Beginning Thursday, April 25, several roads in Urbana, Champaign and Savoy will be temporarily closed to accommodate the races. For detailed maps of affected streets, the weekend event schedule, navigation tips and more, please refer to the Illinois Marathon website.
• Changes to Bus Routes: Due to these road closures, some bus routes may experience temporary alterations. Stay updated by checking with the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District for any changes to your regular routes.
• New Marathon Route: A new marathon route will guide participants through Urbana, Champaign and Savoy, ending at Memorial Stadium.
