Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
Dear campus community member, It is my pleasure to share the 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report with you. Each year, we publish this report, which contains important crime statistics and information from the previous three years concerning campus property, certain off-campus buildings, or on property owned or controlled by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, the report includes statistics about fires in campus student housing, fire safety policies and procedures, campus safety policies, and other safety information. On December 23, 2024, the Stop Campus Hazing Act was signed into law, officially classifying hazing as a Clery Act Crime. As a result, statistics on hazing, as required by the Clery Act, will be disclosed beginning in 2026, including statistics for calendar years 2025 and subsequent years. The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report also includes: a statement of current University policies relating to hazing; how to report incidents of such hazing; the process used to investigate hazing; information on applicable local, state, and Tribal laws on hazing; and a description of primary prevention strategies to stop hazing before it occurs. The University of Illinois Division of Public Safety and Campus Code Compliance and Fire Safety prioritize providing students, faculty and staff with a safe and secure environment to work, study and conduct business. However, we cannot do it alone. Crime and fire prevention is a community effort, and by reading this report, you are taking proactive measures to protect the safety of yourself and others. We would like to recognize and thank the Administrative Clery Committee for compiling the applicable information and statistics, and Brittany Lutz, Clery Compliance Coordinator, for authoring the report. In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act and federal regulations, the full report is available online at police.illinois.edu/clery/report. A printed copy of the report is also available upon request at the U. of I. Public Safety Building, located at 1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, IL 61801, or by contacting us at 217-333-1216. You are also welcome to review the Daily Crime Log. To further enhance your personal safety, we encourage you to:
