Illinois Wiki Retirement Announcement

Today we write to share that the Illinois Wiki will be retired by June 30, 2024. We do not take the retirement of services lightly and thank everyone for their efforts in identifying alternative solutions.

The following dates provide a high-level timeline of retirement plans:

• June 30, 2023 – No new sites can be created
• January 1, 2024 – Illinois Wiki set to read-only
• June 30, 2024 – Full Illinois Wiki retirement

In an effort to support your transition from the Illinois Wiki, Technology Services created the Illinois Wiki Retirement page. Visit this page to request a consult, view FAQs, identify an alternative to the wiki, and more.

Throughout recent contract discussions, the Illinois Wiki provider has increased its annual cost by nearly 900%. Technology Services has been unable to reach an agreement with the vendor to renew the contract. Over the last two years, we have investigated alternatives to the current wiki service but were unable to find a suitable, cost-effective replacement, leading to the decision to retire the Illinois Wiki service.
