Informational Meetings on New Financial Disclosure Regulations for PHS-Funded Investigators

January 31, 2012

Health and Human Services has recently issued a new regulation, 42 CFR Part 50 Subpart F, on financial disclosure for Public Health Service (PHS)-funded investigators.  Effective August 24, this regulation will require changes in our financial disclosure process for anyone involved in the design, conduct and analysis of PHS-funded research, including PIs, co-PIs, academic professional research staff, postdoctoral research associates, and graduate research assistants.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Division of Biomedical Sciences are hosting informational meetings on the new regulations in February.

If you have received this message, your research or employment has recently been funded by the PHS, and this regulation is likely to affect you.  We recommend that you attend one of these informational meetings.  We plan to document your attendance and to provide enough information to meet the new PHS requirement for training on our University Policy on Conflicts of Commitment and Interest and the new HHS regulation.  We would welcome your feedback on options for changes in our processes for financial disclosure and management of conflicts of interest.

Informational meetings are scheduled at the following times:
