Call for Faculty Nominations: 2026 Search Committee to Assist in the Selection of a President

Dear Faculty,

The Board of Trustees has provided the Office of the Senate with an update on the presidential search process and is meeting this week to determine the search timeline and composition of the search committee to assist in the selection of a president. This will include the number of faculty nominees requested from each of the three universities and the deadline for submitting each university’s slate of nominees.

Given the anticipated short timeline and the Senate meeting schedule, the Board has suggested that each university begin the nomination process as soon as possible in order to submit a slate of nominees by late March or early April.

In anticipation of this request, you are invited to submit nominations (including self-nominations) for faculty to serve on this search committee. Nominating candidates from a broad range of disciplines and reflecting the breadth of our campus community is encouraged.

Please submit nominations online no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

The Senate Committee on Committees will present a slate of nominees to the Senate for final selection by electronic ballot, and there will also be an opportunity for additional open virtual floor nominations. The final slate will then be forwarded to the University Senates Conference for transmission to the Board.
