Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to report that the campus is entering the final stages of the Unified Communication (UC) project.  Tuesday, May 29, 2012, marks UC Phone Transition Day, and we are asking you to begin using Lync (UC Voice) as your sole means of phone communications by forwarding your Centrex (traditional) phone lines to your UC Voice accounts.

Full instructions on forwarding your Centrex lines as well as details on the UC Phone Migration can be found at:
http://www.cites.illinois.edu/uc/phonetransitionday.html

During the month of June, campus telephone numbers will begin to migrate from our previous telephony provider to UC Voice, and this will be the final step moving your phone onto the UC system. Once your phone number has migrated, your traditional phone will no longer function.  If you do not forward your Centrex phone lines by May 29th, you will encounter interruptions in your service as your phone number is migrated.

Thank you for your continued partnership in this campus transition. If you have any further questions or concerns with Unified Communications, please contact CITES Help Desk at 217-244-7000 or consult@illinois.edu.

Sincerely,
Paul Hixson
Interim Chief Information Officer, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
