As originally announced in January 2012, a modification to the 2012-2013 Academic Calendar (http://senate.illinois.edu/ep0732.asp) by the Urbana-Champaign Senate has impacted the scheduling of the Fall 2012 final examination period. As a result, final examinations are scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2012 through Thursday, December 20, 2012. During this period, final examinations will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

Faculty, staff, and students are reminded of the examination policies found in the Student Code (http://admin.illinois.edu/policy/code/article3_part2_intro.html).

Article 3, Academic Policies and Regulations
Part 2, Examinations

The following regulations will be applied with the understanding that the University must reasonably accommodate a student's religious beliefs, observances, and practices in regard to the scheduling of examinations if the student informs his or her instructor of the conflict within one week after being informed of the examination schedule. These examinations include: evening, midterm, final, hourly, proficiency, and special examinations. Any student may appeal an adverse decision. (See '1-107(b).)

The Fall 2012 Final Exam Non-Combined Scheduling Guidelines document is linked at http://www.fms.illinois.edu/FinalExams/. The Office of the Registrar will begin on August 29 to work with departments to complete the final exam scheduling process.

For background information on the Fall 2012 calendar change, see the pertinent Urbana-Champaign Senate documentation (http://www.senate.illinois.edu/ep/Props/1112/ep.12.11.pdf). Additional information about final examinations can be found in the Student Code at '3-201 (http://admin.illinois.edu/policy/code/article3_part2_3-201.html).
