Dear Members of the Campus Community,

Earlier this year, I introduced the I-Initiative course and asked that all campus faculty and staff complete the course. We have received an overwhelmingly positive response to the course, and I'd like to thank those who have already completed the course and encourage any faculty and staff who have not completed the course to do so. Student employees will be asked to take the course in the spring semester.

In our ongoing efforts to create a culture of reporting and collective responsibility, as well as to ensure an environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment, we have updated the campus' Policies and Procedures for Addressing Discrimination and Harassment at http://oeoa.illinois.edu/SupportingDocs/complaint_procedures.pdf.  The Office of the President has also recently underscored the importance of safety, civility, and responsible conduct on our campuses with new and revised policies relating to mandatory reporting and training involving discrimination, harassment, and sexual abuse.
