INCIDENT: Armed Robbery OCCURRED: November 21, 2013, at 6:28 PM LOCATION: 510 East Stoughton Street, Champaign BRIEF DETAILS: The Champaign Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the early evening hours of November 21, 2013. On November 21, 2013, at approximately 6:28 PM the victim was returning to his apartment at 510 E. Stoughton St., Champaign when two males approached him. Offender #1 placed his hand over the victim’s mouth and placed a silver pistol against his rib cage. He then told the victim to empty his pockets and grabbed the victim’s backpack. Offender #1 then ordered the victim to open his apartment and both offenders entered. Both offenders then ran out of the apartment and fled in an unknown direction. OFFENDER DESCRIPTION: Offender #1 The victim described Offender #1 as a dark skinned black male in his early 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall, average build, and “low” voice. He was last seen wearing all black clothing with a black bandana covering his face. Offender #2 The victim described Offender #2 as a light skinned black male teenager, approximately 5’8” and thin build. He was last seen wearing all black clothing with a grey bandana covering his face. Information about the race or ethnicity of alleged offenders is provided only to aid detailed descriptions that include physical stature, clothing or unusual characteristics. Racial descriptions do not, by themselves, offer a meaningful picture of an individual's appearance. POLICE RESPONSE: The Champaign Police Department continues to actively work to identify and apprehend the offenders in this incident.
