The Champaign Police Department has issued the following:

 

CRIME STOPPERS $1,000 REWARD

 

At approximately 8 p.m. on April 25, 2014, at least 2 adult females and one male juvenile participating in the 5K race for the Illinois Marathon were reportedly injured by small objects, possibly glass, which was thrown from 309 E. Green Street, Champaign.

 

The Champaign Police Department is currently investigating this serious crime. Officers are canvassing the building and looking for any evidence on this incident.

 

The public is strongly urged to contact law enforcement with information about these cases. Information can be reported to the Champaign Police Department by calling (217) 351-4545 or callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 373-8477 (TIPS).  Information can also be sent by anonymous web tip by going to: www.373tips.com or by texting keyword “CCTIP” plus the information to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Stoppers will pay a $1000 for information leading to an arrest.

 

The Champaign Police Department will be using uniformed officers and plain clothes spotters, as well as video equipment to view buildings in the area of the marathon on Saturday. The public should immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement or call 911.
