Members of the University of Illinois Community,

In a little more than a month, May 18, I will begin my service as the 20th President of the University of Illinois. I am humbled by the responsibility and excited about the opportunity to work with all of you to build on our rich legacy of excellence and make the U of I the best university in the world.

To get things started, the University’s leadership team — the three chancellors and I — will travel to each campus during the week of Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, to meet with you and to discuss the U of I’s future.

I’m calling the sessions: “Meet the New University of Illinois Leadership Team — A Conversation About Our Common Future.” It’s a chance to get acquainted, get down to business, and talk together about what lies ahead.

The exact afternoon times and locations will be announced shortly, but the dates and campuses are:

  • Monday, May 18, Urbana-Champaign
  • Tuesday, May 19, Chicago
  • Wednesday, May 20, Rockford
  • Thursday, May 21, Peoria
  • Friday, May 22, Springfield

I hope you can join us and add your voices to the conversation. There is much at stake and your input is both sought after and highly valued.

Sincerely,

Timothy L. Killeen
President-designate
