The university is designating Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 as an Energy Alert Week on campus due to increased energy demands forecasted for the regional grid. Both Monday and Tuesday afternoon are especially important periods when energy usage is expected to establish new peak levels across the Midwest and conservation efforts should be maximized.

During an Energy Alert Week, all students, faculty, and staff are requested to steward resources by conserving electricity and reducing demand to the greatest extent possible. Conserving energy is everyone's responsibility and helps the campus meet its climate commitment.

Efforts such as shutting off lights when not in use and keeping windows and doors closed in conditioned spaces can have a significant impact.
