Dear Students,

On behalf of the entire campus, I want to thank all of you who headed to Springfield yesterday to call for a resolution to the current budget situation.

Your voices, along with those of your counterparts from the other Illinois public universities and community colleges, are impossible to ignore. You are the strongest advocates for the importance of continuing investment in higher education.

And, as you have again demonstrated, you also are eloquent, passionate and thoughtful ambassadors for this university.

Thank you for taking action and thank you for representing all of us at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with great dignity and distinction.
