Your safety is our foremost priority, which is why we strive to keep you updated regarding public safety issues on or near our campus as information becomes available to us. We have new information about the alleged attempted robbery which was the subject of Sunday’s Campus Safety Notice. The person who reported that the incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. Saturday near First Street and Gregory Drive, Champaign, has told investigators that the incident never occurred.

Police continue to look for two offenders believed to have committed a robbery at 2 a.m. Sunday in the parking garage of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. That incident was detailed in a Campus Safety Notice issued earlier today.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the University of Illinois Police Department at 217-333-1216. Witnesses may remain anonymous by calling Champaign County Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477 (373-TIPS) or by visiting www.373tips.com. Anonymous tips may also be sent via text message by texting keyword "CCTIP" plus the information to 274637 (CRIMES).
