February 11, 2016

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

I am pleased to report that the University-wide strategic planning initiative is progressing and ask that you "save the date" for a second round of town hall meetings next month, providing you another opportunity to participate in the iterative process leading to our final plan. The sessions will be held:

March 2nd, from 3-4:30 p.m. on the Springfield campus, in the Brookens Auditorium

March 8th, from 2-4 p.m. on the Chicago campus, in the Thompson Rooms, Student Center West

March 14th, from 1-3 p.m. on the Urbana campus, in the Deloitte Auditorium, College of Business Instructional Facility

I will be at each session along with the campus chancellor, and look forward to robust and thoughtful discussions about the draft plan, which will be posted on the strategic planning website (https://www.uillinois.edu/strategic_plan/).  This draft will serve as the basis for our discussion at each town hall meeting. Additionally, an email link will be provided on the website for you to submit feedback, ideas, or even suggested text.

The goal continues to be a concise and highly impactful plan for the University's future to be recommended for Board of Trustees approval in May 2016.  Guiding our work is a steering committee and faculty and staff from across the U of I system.

Please visit the strategic planning website (https://www.uillinois.edu/strategic_plan/), and begin your review of the draft framework, remembering that this is an unfolding document that needs your thoughtful and reflective input.

I look forward to seeing you next month.

Sincerely,
Tim
