A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service starting Wednesday morning with 3-5 inches of snow forecasted for East Central Illinois. As part of the storm system, periods of wet, heavy snow accumulation along with strong winds are expected.

The timing of this storm has the potential to create challenging conditions for students, faculty, and staff tomorrow afternoon and evening. Please be prepared to take proper precautions when traveling on campus.

Facilities & Services (F&S) crews are ready to activate snow removal activities for building entrances, sidewalks, streets, and parking lots and to address probable blowing and drifting snow.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as F&S staff work as quickly as practical to keep the campus open and accessible.

More information on snow/ice removal procedures and the priority parking lots map with Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District service locations is available at: http://www.fs.illinois.edu/services/maintenance/snow-removal.

If you have questions about snow removal or to report persistent areas of snow and ice, contact the F&S Service Office at 217-333-0340.
