Election Day Details
October 25, 2022 2:52 PM

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

This year’s Election Day—Tuesday, Nov. 8—is designated as an official state holiday. If you are eligible to vote in this election, we encourage you to exercise that right and make your voice heard on the issues that matter most to you.

University operations on Election Day:

  • Like other state holidays, the university will not hold any classes or exams on this day.
  • Libraries, computer labs and most classroom buildings will be closed.
  • McKinley Health Center and the Counseling Center will be closed. However, McKinley’s Dial-A-Nurse and the Counseling Center emergency lines are available 24 hours. If there is a health or safety emergency, please call 911.
  • University Housing, Campus Recreation and the Illini Union will be open for usual hours.

For more information about early voting hours and locations or to find your Election Day polling location, visit this website. For all employees, holiday usage and pay policies will apply as they do for all other designated holidays. Employees who are required to work may be eligible for release time to vote per university policy. If you are an employee and you have questions, please contact your unit HR representative or Illinois Human Resources at ihr-ler@illinois.edu or 217-333-3105.

Sincerely,

Michael DeLorenzo
Vice Chancellor for Administration and Operations
