Extending the Campus Energy Alert Advisory to July 29
Dear Campus Community, Based on the extreme heat now forecasted to extend into the start of next week, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is projecting additional high energy demand on the regional grid for July 28–29. On these days, the organization anticipates conditions similar to those of this Wednesday and Thursday, which prompted the initial energy alert on campus. To do so, please continue to reference and utilize the information listed below to take action as appropriate: Helpful Resources Additionally, hot/cold issues in university facilities should be reported immediately to the F&S Energy Management Control Center, 217-244-3783. Remember to coordinate with unit facility managers and building contacts as you typically would throughout the service notification and review process. After regular business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to the F&S Service Office, 217-333-0340, which will be routed to the Division of Public Safety dispatch for urgent response support. Thanks again for your assistance and ongoing collaboration during designated energy alert periods. Even basic individual and team efforts can add up and help make a substantial difference. Sincerely, Jeffrey Angiel |
