Banner Transition

Dear colleagues,

You recently received a message from System leadership introducing the Business Modernization and Transformation initiative that will replace our current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, Banner, with a modern, cloud-based platform.

This is a multiyear effort, and nothing is changing immediately. We are in a collaborative planning phase with partners across the university system. Human resources and finance functions will be implemented first, with student platforms to follow. You can view the anticipated timeline on the ERP website.

We will engage in a thoughtful, feedback-driven transition, and your input is important. Banner supports many of your daily responsibilities, including payroll and financial management; the administration of employee and student information; and course scheduling. Because it affects so many of us, engagement across all colleges and units is critical. The ERP website includes information about vendor options and opportunities to ask questions and share feedback.

Administrative leaders from our university are collaborating directly with System, Springfield, and Chicago colleagues as we promote a transition that addresses our university’s needs.

We envision an intuitive, user-friendly platform that integrates finance, HR, and student information into a more consistent experience for accessing information, submitting requests, or navigating university services. We can get there only with your help and your participation.
